History

1947 – The first meeting of the Norway Improvement League was held in the one-room school in town. Five veterans attended: Bob Ness, Floyd Ness, Ole Twait, Glen Hoover, and Wayne Borchsenius. After that first meeting, the major goal of the organization was to create a park where the children of the community could play. That goal was clearly achieved.

1971 – Started Bingo to raise funds.

1975 – Purchased land for the park and building, completed the first ball diamond, and created the playground.

1981 – Completed construction of the Norway Community Building.

1982 – Purchased additional land for the second ball diamond.

Future Plans

• Add picnic shelters to the park
• Add additional bleachers to the baseball fields
• Refurbish the basketball and tennis courts
• Update the playground

As a member, you will be publicly affirming the value of the Norway community for you and your family.

Your participation helps support the upkeep of the Norway Community Building, Cleng Peerson Memorial Park, and the overall appearance of the village.

You will also be helping other organizations in the community, such as Little League teams, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, 4-H Clubs, Sons of Norway, the Norsk Museum, and other clubs and not-for-profit organizations.

Your membership and dues support a vital organization that has been serving Norway and the surrounding area for more than 70 years.

The Norway Improvement League meets the third Monday of every month at 7:00 PM, January through November. Come join us!
